Aircraft Carriers of the US Navy is well designed and executed. The contents page includes a search field, an overview chapter, then 65 chapter listings which can be easily scrolled. Tapping on a particular ship, for example USS Enterprise CVN 65, brings up another scrolling listing of an introductory article (5,000 words or more), and 12 different photos. Each hi-res photo has an optional caption that describes the circumstances under which the photo was captured, for example, "USS Enterprise in Puget Sound - An A Starboard Bow view of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise underway. The Enterprise, on route to its homeport of San Francisco has been in drydock for repairs and modification. The city of Seattle is visible in the background.
